Guest ON3GO Posted November 29, 2004 Share Posted November 29, 2004 ok i got my L28ET that was in the blue Z rebuilt. going to be putting a fresh head on it too, along with a new cleaned up N42 intake manifold. other things thats being done right before the motor is going in is.... Wraping the Downpipe in heat wrap. wraping the ported exhuast manifold also. putting in a new FMIC setup (i hope) electric fan installed 60mm t-body installed and a few other things.. what other things should i look into getting now while i have the chance? dont have THAT much to spend but still i rather do it now then later. thing i want that i cant find on the net.. Valve Cover Gasket OEM L28ET 1982 Water pump Rear Tranny seal for a 280zx n/a 5-speed. also what throw out bearining do i need as im putting in the 280zx n/a 5-speed in.. (lost on that).. anything else i should look into getting? if i can find those parts im looking for on the net now ill order them so they come in time. need to get the car back up and running by Dec 6th so... any help or info would be great. mike Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm glad to see the blue z will be back on the road again! (too bad the oc meet is shut down) All those parts are available at http://www.rockauto.com for a decent price (compared with autozone) and I have had nothing but good experiences with them. I even have a discount code valid up till december 7th that you can use with them... I'll pm that to you. In my experience; when swapping trannies use the throwout bearing collar and throwout bearing that came off the original tranny/clutch combo, unless you plan on using a different clutch/flywheel combo, in which case you should use the corresponding throwout bearing and colar for that clutch and flywheel.
