Guest iskone
From what Oliver at www.ZSpecialties.com is telling me 2 of my rockers are toast and a few more have what he calls pocking. The head seemed fine before the only reason he has it is to check all the specs on it since I blew my HG. I have Nismo springs and a billet cam .580/278* Does this happen often? I don't think he would feed me any BS but I thought I'd get some opinoins from the members. Also he was telling me that it has quite the port job. My head has been hogged out to 40mm on the intakes. I was told 30mm is stock and 33-34 is a typical high performance street setup. The head has also been milled quite a bit. What do you guys think a head like that should flow? Forgot about the 280 valves. Oh another weird thing is he told me my engine should not be used as a street car since it is built the way it is. I also have forged 11.5-1 pistons, 240 rods, a N42 and everything is bronze bushed, balanced, polished, etc... So it looks like another sh*tty surprise. I think from now on I'll be heavly involed in the enineering of every part of any car I plan to build. Isk
preith
Not sure what he means exactly by pocking, and this may have been discussed before, but anyone who used Crane rockers, including myself, had problems. They actually started to deteriorate, or delaminate, and left holes on the friction surface. I don't see them for sale anymore in VB, and assume they aren't on the market anymore for that reason.
