Just bought my first Z on ebay!!! It is a 1982 280zx L28 with a 5speed.

First thing, can I turbocharge this engine or would doing a swap be better (reliabilty, cost, horsepower)?

Reason, I am a big turbo fan. I have had a lot of 4g63 mitsu vehicles (2eclipses,1 talon, galant vr4). I gues I want a rear drive vehicle.

I picked a Z over a stang (was planning to turbocharge a stang) cuz I thought a)It would be different b)always wanted a Skyline c) want to be in the world of Zs.

So, would anyone one recomend turbocharging the current engine or swaping it out? I guess what would best choice?

Thanks,

Jose:)

What part of Wisconsin are you from? I'm just outside of Milwaukee.

For your ZX, you could just swap a turbo motor from a 280ZX turbo into it, it's a direct bolt in. And since you're from Wisconsin, I'll go easy on ya, so when you have another question, use the search feature first. Then if you can't find an answer, post away  .
