Guest boosted
new to this forum. Used the search function for about an hour now but if im using it correctly then i cannot find an answer.First I entered this L6 forum,, then went to search function. tried several key words and phrases with only two or three results ,none of which were any help at all.If someone could explain to me how i might search for the answer to this question.or help me out I would be very gratefull. And my question is this.. Installing an aftermarket water temp sensor (mechanical) L28ET where do i install the sending probe? Im currently thinking the only place to put it is where the stock sender is in the thermo housing. what if i were install a bung on the radiator tank? Thank you in advance. GrayZee
You want to install it in the lower part of the thermostat housing (below the thermostat) The coolant in the rad is too cool and won't give proper reading of the engine's temperature. Guest boosted
seems i'll need some sort of an adapter . the two piece parts that are used to install the probe arent going to work. the half for the block side is way to big to even drill and tap out the housing that big.what a pain in the rear! Guest mblazek
If you want to use an Autometer mechanical gauge, it's easy. Use Autometer P/N 2275 - it's a direct fit in the stock water temp location.
