i read alot of posts regarding 4.3L info and i dont think anything is posted on yearly differences between engines but if there was i apologize.

Grand National 3.8 Buicks are out there. About $3500-up for eng/trans. Most need a good rebuild and sometimes a new turbo but they fit great-intercooler and all, and the performance per $ is better than a V8, 450 hp and 500tq is easy. The Buick turbo's make alot of torque, so you better have a good suspension and brakes to go with it. The 4.3's are good as well. They are basically a 350 V8 w/ two less cyl's. A turbo/supercharger kit will fit them very nicely, but the cost may be more since the exhaust for a turbo may have to be fabricated for a 4.3 V6 Z. The only real diff. in 4.3's is that some late 80's/early 90's are roller cam if port-fuel injected, and the heads are a better design. I've had V8 and V6 Z's and I like the Buick powered car better, but either was a blast to drive if built properly. My 260 is Buick GN powered and it is pure fun.
