Need a test subject for wheel fitment in CA bay area

Recommended Posts

So, Jaime240z on this site has a set of 14 inch wheels for sale. They are the mesh style and I want to know if toyota calipers will fit at all with or without a spacer. I can't test fit as I don't have the calipers on my car yet. Is there anyone with the toyota s12w calipers on there car in the Danville CA area that would be willing to let me test them to view clearance? I'd love to bring you a six pack of your favorite beer for your trouble and meet a hybrid member too. I am in search of cheap wheels so that I can finally put the calipers on the car.

Or, does anyone know of cheap wheels that can be had that will fit these calipers? I don't care too much about looks as I still have the stock steel hubcapless rims and they are ugly.

Thanks

don't know if it was you that messaged me at my email address ... replied to your sbc global address ... bounced back after a couple days ...

we will try again ...

Kyle,

those wheels are long gone ...

they were stock 1977 280z 14 inch wheels. they are supposed to be the same as the 240z wheel, maybe a 1/2 wider.

sorry, i don't have any pix ...

the swap to the toyota calipers is one of the easiest upgrades you can do.

i didn't even take the backing plates off ...

i test fit the calipers, marked off what needed to be trimmed, grabbed my dremil and a cutting disc, cut the backing plates. worked like a charm.

before i did the swap, i asked around. got 12 replies ... all of em saying, no problems if you use the stock 14 inch wheels. some of the factory 15 inch ZX wheels will not clear the calipers.

i am currently running 14X7 konig rewinds, they fit fine ...

if you want a pic of what i currently have, i can send that. i don't have any with the stock wheels.

i can send you pix if the email address works :-)
