Guest BadKarmaCreepin
THIS GOES OUT TO ANYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCE BUILDING MOTORS AND WOULD LIKE TO HELP OUT A MECHANICALLY-CHALLENGED SPEED FREAK... i had plans to rent a storage space and build the beast's soul myself, but, i think it would be easier and take less time (and $) if i could recruit someone else to do it. there's no rush in when it should be done by (hopefully by spring) and i'd supply all the parts, so all i'd need is the vast knowledge and technical skills of someone. i'm looking to build a 280zxt/FI motor with a t3/t4 that is reliable (as much as it can be) while running somewhere around 16-18 psi. i have some zx parts already (alternator, electric starter, 5-speed, blah blah blah) i'm planning on doing the r200 myself. i'd like to follow the write up davyz and some others have. they all estimate about a $3500 price tag, but that is building it yourself. i'm willing to negotiate compensation, somewhere between a case of beer and what a mechanic would cost me here. if you want more details about the build-up, i'll advise as much as i can, but whoever builds it would MOST DEFINITELY know more than i. when it gets done, i'd drive down for a weekend and install it. i plan on selling the engine i have in it currently (a '80 280zx n/a motor, recently rebuilt and VERY healthy) or maybe trade it to whoever builds the new one as part-payment, it's up to the builder. hope to hear from someone! Guest livewire23
would love to help, but I don't have the skill. On another note, if anyone in the bay area needs someone to help with stuff, I want to learn about V8 Zs, so Im willing to help people with theirs Gotta warn you though, I'm a rookie. I believe Im asking if anyone needs what they call a 'shop biatch' around here
