well im finally going to start working on my 260Z. Its been sittin around for awhile. i got 2 hole in my floor pans on the pass. side and My newbie question is that is it really necessary for me to put my car on a rotisserie to weld or could i just lift it up on some jackstands? Or are there alternatives to a rotisserie? I did a search but i didnt come up with much. it doesnt have much rust and im only doin a couple of patches(hopefully) thanks

It can be done without a rotisserie. Many have done it. The rotisserie just makes it easier to inspect, repair, and seal/paint the bottom of the car. However, if you are not doing a complete (or almost complete) teardown of the car, you can't really use one anyway.
