Guest bastaad525
Well, here's the deal. I thought I'd mention this here as I didn't think anyone would even think to look for something like this for sale here. And anyways, there's a post to go along with it so not just a for sale ad. As a few of you know I recieved a G-tech Pro SS as an anniversary gift a few days ago. A fun little toy, for sure. But, maybe not such a good toy for me, at least. #1 - I really don't have a good, safe place to put it to full use. I live not far outside of L.A. - not a lot of empty 1/4 stretches of intersection-less street around here. Even the street thru the industrial area by my job (where I work at night, at which time the street is completely empty) is just BARELY long enough from one intersection to the next, requiring a rather ... ahem... ENTHUSIASTIC stomp on the brakes to come to a stop in time, which brings me to... #2 - Fried brakes One completely toasted front caliper, one set of pads worn down to the metal, and one disc badly scarred because of it. A new pair of front calipers and fresh pads went in over my weekend... a job that ended up being 10x longer and harder than it should have bene due to other... complications... taking the better part of two days worth of sunlight and most of my weekend. #3 - it occurs to me that I don't plan on making any significant changes to my setup any time in the near future, so I'm not realy going to be able to use the G-tech to measure the effects of such changes... which is really the primary reason of owning one is it not? A WB O2 would be much more useful at this point for keeping the RRFPR tuned. #4 - it's too much of a distraction, and in general just makes me drive not-so-great, too tempted to drive quickly when and where I should not be, and draws too much of my attention from the things I SHOULD be paying attention to while I'm driving, which brings me to... #5 - because I was too busy paying attention to the G-tech and not enough to my surroundings, and was playing around with it trying to calibrate it's built-in tach, I didn't notice the cop parked off on dark side street. But thanks to my extremely loud exhaust at 4000 rpm, HE noticed ME. The result, the first speeding ticket (indeed, the first ticket PERIOD) I have ever recieved in EIGHT YEARS of driving modified Z's. For going 50mph in a 40mph zone. On an empty main street at midnite. All because I was revving 4000rpm and making a racket, and the cops around here think anyone like me is probably a ricer out to cause trouble and race around and at that hour he had nothing better to do. So, I really feel bad to do this being as it was a gift, one which I've had for less than a week... but even my wife agrees... G-tech gotta go! Unfortunately, the manufacturer whom she ordered it directly from, isn't going to refund our money. So, I'm putting it up for sale. I doubt it will even cover the cost of the ticket + traffic school... If anyone is interested, it is a BRAND new SS model, which retail for $200 even. I still have everything it came with like box and manual and warranty card, and the sales invoice... everything. I've used it exactly three times, that is to say, during three drives. I'm willing to let it go for $180 shipped (in the US, outside the country we'll have to work something out for shipping but I'll discount it). Hit me up at my email adress bast525@hotmail.com if intersted. By the way for anyone who wants more info on the unit you can visit G-tech's homepage here: http://www.gtechpro.com/
