hat1324 Posted June 29, 2005 Share Posted June 29, 2005 I am SOOOO close to this thing turning over by the end of the night(another all nighter); ive been told that I can wire the coil straight to the battery, but im afraid what if the motor stops and the distib. is on a sparkplug.. i see it sparking out untill it fries or the battery dies.. Im usiing the harness from my 4cyl, (water temp and oil) can I wire the positive to one of the Hot wire when the ign, is in the hot position, or one of the hot wires to the coils?? It has to be running by the end of the night tomarrow today, exaust goes on tomarrow at the shop.. edit: this is a copy from my roomates post on s10v8, not my Z. and you guys are super fast to post. Guest tony78_280z Posted June 30, 2005 Share Posted June 30, 2005 You can wire you coil up to the hot wire of the ignition switch in the run position. Note that the car will not actualy catch (start) until you move the key from start position into the run position. You could simply run a wire from the battery into a fuse/fusable link and then into a toggle switch before hitting your coil. Then flicking the switch will kill the car dead. This would be the quickest and easiest way to rig it up to get it to the shop.
