AK-Z
I want to install megasquirts on my engine and from reading some of the threads here it says that I need a zxt dizzy because I need the CAS. how do I put it on? the mounting is totally different. This is going on a n42 block BTW from a 280z.
AK-Z
Do I even need a CAS for just MS? Or do I just need it if I'm trying to do MSNS? I've read before that I could just use a CAS from a z31, but I don't get how to install one on a L28. I got the dizzy because I though that it would be a simple install, guess I was wrong. Any input or seggustions?
Phyxius
if you want to control spark with the megasquirt, then you must have some sort of crank trigger. Otherwise, you can run a normal dizzy and the MS will know when to inject by the tachometer input.
z-ya
Is it a turbo application? If not, any L6 distributor will work with megasuirt. In fact, if you use the Megasquirt n' Spark code, you can use a 280Z-ZX distributor, and just weld up the advance mechanism. Read more about it in the Megasquirt section of Hybridz Pete
AK-Z
Well I figured it out know. There was a spacer adaptor thingy that was on where the distributor was. Thats why I was confused and thaaough that it shouuld fit. It was covered in grease and dirt thats why I thought that it didn't fit. Well I think I'm going to install just the FI part of the MSNS for now and later on install the rest when I get the shaft and turbo oil pump for it later on.
