280zwitha383
So my friend is in from out of town and he's a really big import guy. The last time he was here I gave him a ride in the ZX and he tripped. He said I had to be running 13's easy.... To that I laughed and asked him if he was serious. Anyway, this time he comes down and now all of the sudden he asks what I run in the 1/4 mile. He says, "shouldn't you be running 8's or somewhere around that time in this area?" Once again he got the "are you serious" look followed by a strained yet polite response. He said I should be running 8's because I'm at a lower altitude then NM and he saw some guy with almost my exact setup that he thought ran 8's. And all this time I thought I was doing him a favor by showing him a car with something over his precious 200hp mark. Oh and the last time he was here he told me that I had to have atleast 500hp at the rear wheels because that's how hard he thought the thing pulled. Other than that he's really knowledgeable about cars..... Everyone in the family thinks so

TheNeedForZ
Yeah I know what you mean. I have a friend that's into honda and stuff, them Honda crowd look for different things in the engine. Last time he was telling me about how his friend has a totally balanced rotating assembly that revs to 10000rpm and how it felt like a totally different car and was saying how that engine made 220hp, and the car was so light etc etc. I suppose they are impressed by 200hp because their frame of reference : small displacement engines. That friend of mine knows more about cars than I do so he's cool. He goes from Vancouver to Seattle to circuit race all the time, but he doesn't even know how much a cubic inch is(61ci = 1000cc), he knows very little about small block chevy neither. Hi-tech import and big-inch domestic seem to be preferred by two exclusive worlds. Personally I am interested in their DOHC, VVTL and stuff, but "6.2 liter Chevy V8" feels fast just from saying it.
