Guest Z Draci
Awaiting my strut/hub assy, my turbo engine swap is still indefinately postponed. I wanted to know if anybody can advise me on how I can take out the vacuum control modulator and replace it with a manual bypass valve from an 280ZX non-turbo manifold. To me, it makes sense to plug up the EGR valve on the manifold and use the existing AAC valve plug for the bypass valve from an NA manifold. I can also use the existing one-way check valve on the AAC to prevent boost leakage on the NA bypass valve. Am I missing anything here? Can I use the bypass valve from any year 280ZX non-turbo? Also, do I lose anything from eliminating the charcoal canister? I know I'd run a bit lean (like taking off the EGR), but is it anything noticeable? I'd really like to get a non-EGR manifold so I can have a cleaner looking engine. If anybody has one lying around their garage, please let me know! I'd be glad to buy it off you. Otherwise, I'd have to do some plugging up myself.
