Nothing to do with Z's but worth a look if you're interested in where military technology is headed. Big file(14 meg) but quite a show, demonstrated at different firing rates.

If you want to goto the Metal Storm web page, you can check out all sorts of computer animation clips on how this system could be used in military applications, law enforcement, firefighting...

That's pretty interesting but that seems like an awful lot of weight and bulk for a relatively low ammo capacity.

But still I can't help thinking, 'screw the v8 swap, I'll just put a VW bug engine under the rear hatch and stuff one of those damn things into the Z engine bay!' flamedevil.gif

The clip is just a test, only 36 barrels and limited ammo to 180 rounds. They're talking about being able to attach these underneath UCAV's with enough ammo and barrels to lay down a swath of grenades a football field wide, 2 miles long.

That was awsome! I love the sound of the 60k round/minute. Think of how that gun will be an asset to some (crappy shooting) deer hunters :D Although, not much will be left of the deer...

Check out how they outfitted some C-130's with the 50 calibers and some other stuff (just had a total brain fart), they would fly around in a circle and just unload a ungodly amount of ammo in every square inch of a spot the size of a football field in just seconds. I have a video of this, it's just jaw droping eek2.gif .
