Guest roydeanjr3
hi all, name is roy, and ive been tinkering around on old datsuns since i was 17. i've had a few 280zx's here and there, and one 280z. found my current project sitting under a barn overhang stopped one day, talked to the owner, and a week later had the car hauled to my house my current project is a 1974 datsun 260z, i've gotten it running, but barely. doesnt matter anyways, because im pulling the L26 out to make room for bigger and better things. my plan is to drop in a big block caddy engine in, 472-500 CID. from what i've read so far on the site, the swap shouldnt be too difficult, but im wondering if anyone else had done the swap could tell me how they managed motor mounts/ect. any kits or is custom fab my only option there? well, any advice would be helpful, and thanks in advance. Here comes trouble
Welcome Roy... a recent post from Grumpy Vette asked the question who was using a Cadillac engine. You should be able to find this post and others in the hybrid z "search" engine. There are alot of advantages to this conversion if you find Mr. Grump's recent post. This conversion has been done but not too well known.
