Rick Rick, The article I read wasnt the magaine you'ld buy off a newstand. I found the article in a paperback book compiled by 'Cartech' which formed a compilation of Hotrods most popular Big Small block builds. The article in question is entitled "At Large" and was written by Tom Madigan. I found the book at a Barnes & Nobles bookstore in their Automotive section. It is Volume 9 of what appears to have been 10 Volumes in all. Not all Volumes are on SBC. Volume 9 is entitled, "The Best of Hotrod Magazine: How to Build Big Inch Chevy Small Blocks. You can obtain the book from a bookstore or direct from the distributors: 1)Cartech 11605 Kost Dam Road, North Branch, MN 55056 Ph#651.583.3471/800.551.4754 PS: As if 454 SBC wasnt large enough, a few pages further, in that same book, is an article on a 482 SBC(?). No dyno figures yet-but at the time of the article the man, Jack Conely, out of Brighton Detoit had already built two 482 SBC's. He's currently working w/Hotrod to come up w/some engines for testing....pretty interesting: no ph#'s for Conely's shop-I'm sure you could call information & question the man yourself!! Sorry guys...there were more than just 10 Volumes as I also have purcheased Volume 11-which is entitled, "High Perf.Camshafts". FYI: Just wanted everyone to know there were more than 10 volumes. PS: Volume 11 is worth it as it explains everything @ cams: from past to present & has dyno printouts to boot!)
