Guest acabtp
i have started disassembling an '87 ecu with the intention of seeing what can be done to remap/reprogram it. it has a standard 28 pin eprom, which i have pulled and sent out to a friend to dump the image. i was told that the 24 pin chip ( a NEC D449C(A)-1 ) controls the following: that's a bad one to hack. you won't be able to: change the K or any values from 7E00 to 7F00. There is a way around it maybe possibly if you want to try. You have to remove the 24 pin chip and reroute some traces so the fuel pump works. The 88binfile won't work on that ecu. Bernard i contacted NEC looking for information on the chip, but they were not able to provide me with a whitepaper or a datasheet, and referred me to B&D Enterprises, to whom they have transferred the IP of that line of chips, but they were not available when I tried to contact them. so i am just looking if any of you have any information on how this chip interacts with the fual pump, and why the ranges of memory are not modifiable. thanks in advance, sorry if this has been gone over, but i did not see anything in searching. link with pictures of disassembled '87 ECU. thanks in advance for ANY information that you have on the '87 ecu, Tom
