Guest ON3GO
Okay. I sold my Enkei 92's to a friend of mine so im trying to find tires for my oldschool wideass Ronal Wheels. now i measured wrong when i 1st measured them.. there 15in not 16's.. so now instead of not finding wide rears for the 16's i cant find wide fronts for the 15's.. sucks! the rears are 15x10.5.. maybe 11 inchs wide. Now the only wide performance tire i found are some Nitto 555R drag radails. in sizes P275/50 R15 and in 325/50 R15. the 275's are 25.75" overall.. so not very tall which is awesome because it will be as low as it now with the 225-50's on it now. the 325's are 27.99"'s... so about 2 inchs taller in the rear. would give it a nice stance but still alot taller. but thats a WIDE tire, and im only pushing 300rwhp right now.. more later once the bigger turbo and injectors get ordered, but still thats about 6 months away. Would i loose performance with these wide tires being as sticky as they are with only 300rwhp and NON-LSD rear end compared to the 275's? also on the front tires.. i cant find any 245-45 to 50's anywhere, not even 235's... the front wheels are 8.5's so a 225 would be very VERY hard to fit on the wheel and it looks like its gonna be hard to fit any tire on these wheels as the outer main lip is pretty tall. any ideas? now these wheels fit a NON-coilover car but ill prob put them on anyways to be smart and plus it would be a nice upgrade. with these wheels being so wide do i HAVE to run a 8in coilover? on my green Z i did (or was told to) run a 8in. But then again i sectioned my struts and it was a 17inch wheel. on this blue Z im not sectioning the struts, as i already have brand new struts in it already. can i run a 10inch spring and sleeve to get more adjustable'ty on this type of setup? i think i can and i searched and came up with a few NO's and YES's. so i thought i would ask again. ZG flares will be going on this car but NOT the ones you buy everywhere. Vintage Tech Z (Vince) will be making something up for these as the offset is pretty wide. -33 or so (rear). Dudeboy
ON3GO, I found some wide 15 inch tires They are called Michelin TB5 and TB15. There may be a vintage tire dealer here in the states that sell these Michelins, but I know you can get them in the UK. Check out http://www.longstonetyres.com are enter Michelin TB15 in your search window. There is a pound to dollar conversion, and a tire size conversion on the site. They are not cheap !!! Pirelli also sells a 345/35-15 (The Lambhorghini Countach and Group 4 Pantera rear tires) P-zero Giallo Asimetrico, kind of costly also, But i have some ideas floating around in my head about these tires. Guest ON3GO
ah didnt show up when i searched cuz its out of stock in texas. cool. that helps but i was also told a 225 can fit on a 8.5in wide wheel without being to much of a pain, as Alex SR240Z said he has 225 on a 9.5 so i should be fine then. gonna get some advans for the front and some Nitto's in the back. i just still dont no about the 275 or 325 question i had in the 1st post. still lost on the coilovers.. mike
