Guest Anonymous
I've been asking this question for a while but noone seems to know. So I went to the auto store, bought a plastic clutch alignment tool for a Chevy T5 and compared it to the Nissan T5 tool. -The chevy pilot shaft tip is actually slightly smaller and shorter than the Nissan, but it's clutch splines are fatter. -I haven't compared a Ford T5 shaft, maybe this weekend. - I suspect the Chevy T5 has a shorter overall main shaft lenght though, that would be unsurmountable. The solution once and for all would be for someone to measure the length of a Chevy and Nissan input shaft from tip to case. Clutch and pilot bushings could be modfied... Guest Anonymous
It could well be made to fit. That still leaves quite a few mods and the trans still might not take the torque, the early T-5's didn't take more than about 230 Ft/Lbs, which is a mild small block at best. Not to discourage you, I hope you figure it out and hope it works fine for you, just not something I'd pursue given there are already kits to put the whole swap in.
