83' ZXT alternator + AZ Car Pulleys = Headache...

Alright, i finally threw in the towel on the 10si upgrade, i'm not sure if the AZ car kit is making things particulary difficult or what, but i couldn't get the alternator to sit in line w/ the other 2 pulleys at all, ended up destroying a perfectly good alternator mount in the process too.

So i went and returned the 10si, and picked up an 83 ZXT unit... figured alright, stock replacement for my 83' L28ET, good to go minus putting a diode in the wiring from what i've read.

WRONG...

yet again, these pulleys are not lining up... with the stock pulley and fan off the alternator, i get 3/4 of a turn thread engagement at best, no washer, no nothing, just the nut, that seems kinda iffy. and even then the pulley is sitting off center from the other 2 pulleys in the kit at that point.

in order to correct this problem it appears i need to flip the pulley around, which then it appears would remove all "fan" properties from the exhaust portion of the alternator, and cut the stock alternator spacer tube to get things to shiim up.

now i tried cutting the 10si's spacer during it's fabrication, whatever they make it out of is pretty damn strong... took forever to get through w/ a sawzall, which isn't normal.

and on top of that, since that sawzall is a less then "precise" cutting device, its damn near impossible to get a level cut, so you end up spending more time decking the spacer afterwords...

That was all with the 10si's failed fabrication, i've searched the forums, can't seem to find anyone mentioning running AZ car pulleys, nor did i see any photos of how they've mounted them... but so far these are being far from a "bolt up" affair...

If anyone else out there is running AZ car pulleys, please post what year engine, car, and what alternator your using this setup on... i really want to get my car on the ground, and this last job is keeping me from finishing it...

alright... here's how the 83 zxt alternator is stock...

heres the sleeve bearing it uses to keep the stock pulley from burning up against the alternator chassis...

heres the bearing fully seated into the alternator, along w/ measurements for the top of the sleeve, base thread ending, and base thread starting...

the next 2 are the pulley on both ways possible, with the sleeve installed, showing how much thread engagement there is... (or isn't in this case)

the next 2 are the pulley on, w/ the alternator bolted up, and the bearing in... showing that it doesn't line up either way...

and the last 2 are the pulley on, w/ the alternator bolted up, and no bearing in, as you can see it's close in one position, however w/ the sleeve bearing not there, the pulley and alternator chassis make contact, so obviously that wouldn't work, it'd burn up and chew itself to pieces.

so like i said before, i don't have a machine bench to machine that sleeve down, do they make sleeves by themselves to where i could mark this one w/ a razor and go look for another thats just barely longer than the mark? it still wouldn't make the belt line up 100%, but it'd be a helluva lot closer than any of the other options thus far...

ideas anyone? also i still need to know exact wiring procedure for this thing... pictured below is the back of the alternator, and the wiring i have in the engine bay if anyone knows that one off the top of there head...
