Guest WISCZ
Currently swaping a '82 turbo into a '72 and want to retain the stock fuel tank for now. Will be replacing supply and return fuel lines with new 3/8's hard alum. lines along with Walbro GSL 392 pump and filter. Do I need to pull the tank and have larger inlet and outlet connections modified on the existing tank or can I simply attach a flexable fuel line to both of the tank connections? Also can I permantly remove the third line from the tank to the left engine compartment (fuel vapor line)? Thanks for any response.
Guest strokerZ
I installed a Summit racing sump to the bottom rear of my 72 tank. There is a sump they offer with 3/8 fittings. The sump comes with installation instructions including the cutting of holes in the tank. This system works perfectly and always supplies adequate fuel. Make sure that you have the work done by a competent, SAFE installer (hot tank). It is quite a simple install...most gas tank/radiator shops could do this. Here is a link...its the second sump down the list. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=sump&searchinresults=false&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=115&target=egnsearch.asp
