Guest gpark009 Posted December 21, 2005 Share Posted December 21, 2005 Hello Everyone, First of all i must say great site. very knowledgable....A little History about 6 months ago i purchased a 1981zx non-turbo completely stock. Since because of old age i had to replace the brake master cylinder, charging system, and clutch... Total invest with buying is approx. $1500 and the car runs like a champ.. Current plans are to install an older 350 LT1 motor with a 700r4 tranny (gas daily driver lol). Car allready has 3.9 gears in the rear. I'll post pics soon of the car in its orginal state and plan to order the bible within the next week (budgets suck). Current problem: Speedo is off considerably and i have searched here for ideas but i wish to convert to electric. Since i am on a budget unfortunently i need to change the speedo before my v8 swap....Through some research i have found that any 3 3/8" speedo from autometer would fit with little mods in the orginal dash.. the problem i am having is trying to find an electronic sending unit that works with the original 5-speed tranny...Any advice please Guys I just want to say now thanks in advance for any advice and help. Update: Continued to do some more research and finally found the correct sending unit to work with any Autometer Speedos and the stock 5-speed. You'll have to contact contact Speedometer Services at 414-463-6660 and the part number he gave me to order is HE22C-16 at $98.50.
