HeatRaveR
I saw this wheel website that has a section of wheels that will fit the older Z's, at the bottom: http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/volk_fitment/nissan.htm They have a 16x7" wheel with a +20 offset being an acceptable fit. I know our offset is supposed to be 0, so wouldn't that put the wheel too far in? Is the seller smoking crack, or is +20 is an acceptable margin of error? Guest nick_25
not sure on the Z, but when the tire is offset inward, doesn't that give it better handling to an extent...or is that camber....hell, i don't know
Kennysgreen280zt
I ran a 16x7.5 ET20 with no issues on my Z, other than they didnt sit flush with the fenders, they were inset pretty bad. Also spring perch clearance was next to nothing, actually now that I think about it, I had to run 8mm spacers in the front and rear. A 7" wide wheel with ET20 would fit, but not look good. HeatRaveR
What size tires did you run on those 16x7.5" wheels? I'm planning 225/50-16, so I'm worried about strut clearance on my '82 Turbo if I did get +20 offset. Besides, strut clearance aside, wouldn't the +20 put extra stress on the hub bearings? Kennysgreen280zt
I ran a 215-40-16, it was quite the low profile. 225-50-16 is a popular size. Your fitting these to a 280zx? I cant give an accurate guess whether they will fit a ZX or not. Most times offsets are listed, + will cause the wheel to be more sunken into the fender, closer to the struts, more inboard, whatever you want to call it. When an offset is listed with a - , that will mean the wheel is more outboard, has more dish and sits flush with the fender, or sticks out past the fender.
