Guest ON3GO Posted January 4, 2006 Share Posted January 4, 2006 Okay im about to order a V3.0 unit but im stuck on one thing. the 7MGTE is DIS.. but i dunno what to order from.... http://www.rs-autosport.com they show a EDIS diagram but no DIS. will the EDIS system work? also when ordering they dont even list a *DIS system, they show the Neon waste spark system, and whats ever listed with the Tach Input. i get everything else, im pretty sure i need to run a GM DIS system on the 7M-GTE but i just dont know how to order the "correct" kit. if theres a better place to order the right kit that will work on the 7MGTE with stock coil packs then let me know. mike Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
z-ya Posted January 4, 2006 Share Posted January 4, 2006 The only options as far as ignition control is EDIS or DIS using a distributor. The 7MGTE I believe uses a cam trigger and fires either wasted spark or individual coils for each cylinder. To use MS with a 7MGTE you will need to fabricate a crank trigger using the EDIS trigger wheel and sensor. Then you will also need an EDIS module from a junk yard.
