TheNeedForZ
How much force do I need to remove the piston pins from the rods? Can I do it without a hydraulic press? If the press is the only way to go, where can I find someone to press them out for me(machine shop? typical auto shop)? Thanks
z-ya
Yes, they need to be pressed out. Any automotive machine shop can do it for you.
Guest Jon Powell
Try a heat gun on the bottom of the piston to expand it & lightly tap the wrist pin out with a socket placed on one end & a hammer. That's how I do the RB wrist pins...They have "C" clips on either end also though.
