Guest WISCZ
Doing a turbo swap into a 72 and looking for options on mounting the AFM and K&N style air filter in the engine compartment behind the radiator. There is not enough room with using the stock rubber tube (between the turbo and the AFM). Looked at trying to extend a tube through one of the two holes in the radiator support but the angle is to great to direct the AFM and a tube through. Has anyone replaced the rubber tube with a replacement of a shorter length? How did you mount the AFM then? Pictures would be great.
Metro
There's a bunch of posts on this, for example, this one.
Mex-Z-can
I have the a/c stuff still in and was able to install the afm just by cutting 1 to 2 inches from each end of the rubber boot. I use a flexible plastic tube (autozone) to connect to the airbox in front of the radiator, through the stock hole in the radiator support. Works ok at stock boost level.
