Guest needwaymorespeed
Ive noticed that alot of people are wanting to convert over to the cv shaft halfshafts on the rear and retain there larger stub axles that the 74-78 z cars have instead of installing the smaller 240 z stub axle and not having to install a custom set of adapters. are the 280 z stub axles realy that superior to the 240?? Why not take the 240 z stub axles and companion flanges-have them magnafluxed-if ok have them heat treated for added strength- Has anyone heat treated these pieces?? the cost is real reasonable 20 -50$$ depending on the process selected-first have to have a metalurgical analysis made to determine the metal used for these components -the metal will determine which proces is the best to use . What do you guys think?? Curtis
Guest Jason
You could also try cryo-treatment. Supposedly does a good job of tempering steel at only $7/lb. -Jason
