i was 99% on doing an efi 5.0 swap in my z.. untill i found a complete 280zxt pull out (engine, harness, ecu, and senors) for $250..

so i guess that is the route iam going.. iam going to pick it up monday.. and iam not going to waste my time with the weenie t3.. and aparently the holset works quite well for you guys

so my question is, other than oil lines, what modifacations do i have to do to bolt it on? and would any one be interested in making me a down-pipe, and if so how much would it cost me?

iam trying to get my hands on a hy35w, but if i can't get it, is there another turbo that preforms simaller?

you can do thumpers method of tapping a stock centersection for the T3 banjo, or you can do my method of full aftermarket oil line, whichever suits your fancy. I personally did not like the idea of even minute shavings in my centersection, so i opted for the more expensive but garanteed safe route.

you will need to fabricate some kind of bracket to hold a wastegate actuator in place, the stock holset one is dialed in for 20psi which obviously your not going to be able to do day to day. in turn you should probally port your wastegate hole to the max prior to install, we've yet to install a single holset that did't require porting on the internally gated models.

you need to make sure the HY35w you get comes with the holset elbow, or else the downpipes we've designed are irrelivant, and you get to try and source 4.25" v-band, which isn't easy, trust me. if you can get the elbow i can copy my downpipe for you, i'll have to get back with you on the cost part of it, have to go back over my notes of what it ran me when i did it.

last but not least, a ZXT stock is a MAF setup, so you'd either need to convert to speed density, or find a reducer to bring the 4" inlet of the holset down to the diameter of whatever the maf is... and even then i can't promise it'd work, cause thats one huge turbo to trust a stock maf to handle.

not to nit pick here, but the stock ZXT set-up is AFM. its got the flapper door. the MAF's are hot wire types and hove no flapper door.

as a side note, I see megasquirt in your near future..... or at the very least, a conversion to the 300ZXT ECU and accompanying MAF.
