alsil
What's up! I'm building my '71 up, and I already have a set of '93 Stock rims. I am going to use adapters to attach them, but I was wondering about the spacing. The backspacing is 6", and I need 4.25" in the front, so I'm getting 1.75" adapters for the front. The rear is where I'm kind of worried. If I use the same adapeter, the tire will be very close to the fender lip. I was going to do 1.5", but I'm not sure whether they make them. I thought about drilling the stub axle out for 5 lug (I'm doing a disc conversion anyway, so while I have them out...) and use spacers. I have read the JTR manual about spacing and they say 5"bs with a 235/60/15. I'm going to use a 225/50/16, which is a little shorter, but I was wondering about 245/50/16's. I don't really want to move the spring perch up 2.5", so what do you guys think? I have about a month before the suspension will all be done, so I'm trying to sort this out BEFORE I make the wrong decision. ------------------ http://refuse.netdojo.com/Zcar
BLKMGK
Have you considered just converting it to 5lug and going 4wheel disc at the same time? That's what I'm doing for better wheel selection. I'm told the later 300ZX NA wheels will bolt up afterwards if I desire.. http://www.fonebooth.com/brakes.html
alsil
Yes, I thought about it, but it's too late, I already have the front brakes. I got them on a deal (the parts guys gave me killer prices) and I can't take them back. I'm trying to work with what I have now. I don't really want to convert the back to 5-lug if the front is 4 still, so that's why I'm looking for options. Thanks, AL ------------------ http://refuse.netdojo.com/Zcar
Guest Anonymous
Just drill the 4 lug rotors for 5 lugs? ------------------ Morgan morgan@z31.com http://carfiche.com http://z31.com
alsil
Can I do that on a stock set of rotors/hubs? I'm still going to have to use spacers, since the backspacing (6" vs 4.25") will be a serious issue? I think spacers would be cheaper than adapters, but overall would it be cheaper? ------------------ http://refuse.netdojo.com/Zcar
