DemonZ
I have 3 different flywheel bolts. I'm guessing the T-13 bolts are from the turbo because the the head bolts share that designation. Can someone verify which ones are which? Also, how high is the risk of reusing these bolts, any bolt failure horror stories for the L6? zuhow
I wouldn't reuse flywheel bolts. They are stressed pretty heavily. Suck it up and get some new ones rather than risk it is my opinion.
D83ZXT
I agree with zuhow. They aren't too expensive either.
Guest norm[T12SDSUD]
You can reuse them a couple times but MAKE SURE YOU USE RED LOC TITE!! Also DO NOT over torque them or they will break!! Stop at 100 ft lbs. Later,Norm
DemonZ
Whelp, Dealer price is $10/bolt and has to order them. I'm contemplating putting that $60 into a scatter shield instead and have a little more piece of mind. Norm, just curious around what RPM did "360 degrees of total carnage" happen? I'm not planning on reving much past 6500. OT: D83ZXT, can you post or PM me about the clutch deal you got. I called them twice and the sales guy didn't have a clue, but said if I got him part #'s he could hook me up. Thanks guys.
Guest norm[T12SDSUD]
Happened back in 99 on the 1-2 shift @ 7100 rpm the first time I used slicks with a worn out stock clutch...not a smart thing to do!
