Guest vanir97
okay, i hooked up all the wires, connected the battery cables. turned on the key and vola! it started and did not catch the car on fire. There was alot of smoke from the heat wrap ( I wrapped the entire exhaust system) but the was no fire or starter/solenoid smoke, so I guess all is well. One question when I attache the wire to the ballast resistor (points setup) I attach it to the + side Y/N? I did that and things worked, so it must have been the right move. Now all i have left is to find the time to take it out, run it for a while, let it get really warm, and see if it starts after it sits for a while. I left the starter heat wrap off since I thought it might just retain more heat than let it out. Also have to clean up the engine bay, and route some of the wires/cables a bit better. I was thinking of using Dyna-Wrap heat mat around the enine bay mounted to the fenderwells/ firewall to keep heat away from the wires/ fuel lines. Good/bad idea. Sorry for all of the frantic posts, but I just did not want to burn up wiring, starter, solenoid, or all of them at once.
