Guest scca
in reference to the JTR manual- this info was from the BRE shop in the 70's. (i dont know when JTR started though)relocating the pickup to reduce bumpsteer is a improvement. if the cars needs it. i still think that it is car dependent . as Randy said he doesnt use the BS(bumpsteer) spacers - neither do I. and i have a set here new..... all i want to get across it that you want the geometry to be in a straight line for all peices. mostly the rack to the spindle arm. you can do the old way of reheating and bending or a newer way toss the old tierod ends and change to a alum tie rod witha heim. drill out the spindle end to 5/8" and use spacers to correct the geometry at ride height. IMO this is the best way to achieve no bumpsteer. spacers or relocating may be needed as well but verify that the car actually has a problem before you start fixing it. i was planning at one point of making a replacement tie rod end kit and havent gotten to it. i do have 10' of threaded alum tube sitting in the shop already... ------------------ Mike mike@fonebooth.com http://www.fonebooth.com/brakes.html raceparts and brake upgrades.
