I can't bring myself to pay the exorbonant fee for coil-overs, so I figure I'll just get normal springs, if they're stiff enough. Just how low were they? Dan Baldwin Posted December 5, 2000 Share Posted December 5, 2000 I have Suspension Techniques springs on my '71. For me they are about the ideal compromise for street and track usage. They're twice as stiff as stock at 160 lb/in front and 200 lb/in rear. They lowered the car about 1", again about what I was looking for as a street/track compromise. Guest scca Posted December 5, 2000 Share Posted December 5, 2000 240 and 280 are different spring kits. the 280 are usually stiffer for the heavier car. also the 280 rear strut is longer and in some kits the spring is shorter. the susp tech kit is probalby the best but if randy is ging to sell his cheap $125 set or so then try them just will need a set of good inserts as he states... i heard a rumor a while back that tokiko bought susp tech. so the springs now made arent necesarily the same as the ones most have from years ago..... tokiko has them made in different places and the quality varies. i sold susp tech alot in the 80's they were fine, now they dont seem the same. i have triewd tokikos and didnt like them and eibachs and didnt like them either (coil bound) ------------------ Mike mike@fonebooth.com http://www.fonebooth.com/brakes.html raceparts and brake upgrades.
