zack_280
Hey guys, I have an L28 block with an E31 head and Schneider stage 3 cam (per the PO). I am currently in the process of rebuilding the short block. Here's some background info. I'm not sure what the thickness of the head is, but the combustion chamber side has been shaved at least twice. As I understand it the compression ratio is going to be relatively high (10:1 or 11:1). The block needs new pistons and a rebore. The main goal is to get the car running solidly. The machine shop gave me a quote for the parts $435 (pistons, rings, bearings, gaskets, and oil pump). I'm not sure where he is getting these parts, but he says they should be solid. Before I have him install anything I thought I should ask the experts. What should I use with the parts I have (E31/L28) to build a solid engine? Also, what else should I be looking at before I put it back together (i.e. valve clearances, etc)? Thanks in advance.
