Z0wner
whats the value of an l26? how much would an l26 engine + tranny go for? I have one that was running when I pulled it 6 months ago. It was garage kept, so it should still be good Has a holley 390cfm 4bbl carb What would something like this sell for? would it even sell? Guest iskone
Hate to break it to you but not much. I've seen motors go for as little has FREE to $500 it'ss just what the market will bare. Isk
olie05
If you part it out you may get a little more money. For example the intake manifold, if cleaned up can fetch as much as $100.
Guest iskone
Really you think guys will pay $100 for a mani? Isk
olie05
lol I wouldn't pay it, but people are addicted to ebay... example.. there are a set of headlight covers on ebay that are exceeding the cost of MSA headlight covers! They are just plain old acrylic HL covers. I'm sure you could unload a 4-barrel conversion manifold at somewhere around $100.
Guest iskone
Oh, I forgot it's a four barrel. Yeah part that baby out. Eaby, I saw a set of ZG's go for about $50 more than you could buy them for and they didn't even ahve any hard ware. Isk
OlderThanMe
lol...crazy ebayers...Take some sandpaper and polish that manifold!!! it is so easy to do and then just use some mothers aluminium polish...I am seeing $175-200 on that manifold. This literally made my day! The value of that one item covers 20% of the cost of my vehicle upon my purchase of it!
280zwitha383
Man, that manifold looks like a horrible design! I've never seen one by itslef and I can't imagine anything less than gas POURING into the head. Forget mixing with air. No?
Guest iskone
From what I understand it's not bad at all. There was a soemwhat lenghtly thread about one a while back. Well, Dave's (AZC) anyway. Isk
Z0wner
i'll tell you what... the vehicle I bought was sitting for 4 years prior to my purchase... turned the key and fired right up without missing a beat. Idled beautifully, revved up real good too. Heck I even have the 390cfm carb... how much those go for used?
Z0wner
Alright boys, finally got around to taking the manifold off... Overall the condition looks really nice. It just needs a bead blast and a polish. I'll be putting it up on eb@y soon and will have starting bid at 200$ (had a chat that knows what it can go for). Have a question though, does anyone know what a 390cfm carb could go for if it needs a rebuild? Its in decent condition, and was working when I had the engine going (famous last words haha) I'll end up spraying it off and was wondering what a good reserve would be. Thanks guys! really appreciate it! Click for High Res..:
