Guest Anonymous
I am amost finished with a vela rosa conversion. I took it for its first test drive. I can drive it about two miles and the brake pedle starts getting stiff. the rear brakes start to lock up. by the time I get back hoe the car will barly move. after it cools down the brakes are back to normal I backed off the rear adjusters and it didn't help. Guest Anonymous
Al, The larger resover is at the rear of the master cylinder. Since I first posted this message I set the car on jacks, started is up and put it in first gear. The rear brakes didn't lock up. Backing off the adjusters did help after all. The problem now is the front brakes are sill locking up. When I did this test I never hit the brakes. This isolates the problem to the power booster or master cylinder. I think the rod between the two is too long. Or my rebuilt boster or master is bad. The front brakes do release after the car cools down.
