Guest Speedyblue
My father is putting together a 400 chev for his work ute (similar to an el camino) and is keen on powerhouse alloy heads because they are fairly cheap. The engine won't be a high revving monster, rather a hi-torque cruiser that may pull a load from time to time. Has anyone had any experience with this brand? Are they good, bad, ugly etc. Sorry there isn't really any Z content this time, but I'll make sure there is next time. Cheers Scott
DavyZ
Scott, you might want to do a Google search and find out what you can about the heads. I know that Jegs heads are made by Canfield (if memory serves), which are good heads, and I suspect that Powerhouse has one of the manufacturers make one for them. Don't they give flow numbers or anything? You should be able to compare the data with others that advertise theirs and make a quality decision after that. Hopefully someone here knows. Also, there are numerous Chevy forums on the net that could possibly help you. Have you called Powerhouse to ask them who makes them? They might actually tell you. Guest Speedyblue
We have called them and they wouldn't really say who actually made them. Their website hasn't been working for us properly either so I haven't found flows. I have been hitting up google and searching through but haven't really found peoples opinions on them. The people selling them are pretty quick to tell you they are great, but I was after some feedback from people that had used them. I have asked this on a chevy forum too. Thanks Scott
