SCCA......worked on the brakes today....?

Hey Mike,

I got the 11 3/4" rotor today and went straight down to Rick's shop.....thanks!

After comparing the 12 1/4" rotor to the 11 3/4" rotor, I had no idea that it was wider and now the spot calipers wouldn't work.. frown.gif

Basically, we decided to make the 12 1/4" rotor work. I guess I just wasted a ton of money on overnight shipping......oh well...that's life....

The problem with the front is more than likely the backspacing of my 15x11 rims. I had to install longer studs and space the rims out a 1/2". Then the rims stuck out too far and my tire was going to hit my fender flares. Luckily, Rick had a machinist at hand that is going to custom make a spacer so that the offset is correct.

As far as the rears, the bracket was a 1/2" too short when mocked up.....please advise.... We also had to use a different rotor hats to make things work......is it my rims or what?

Rick is going to order the spot caliper brackets from Wildwood and retrofit it for my car.

Did I order a proportioning valve from you? I can't remember. Which box was it in? With the brake pads?

All in all, we're making progress. My awesome roll cage is done and I'm confident that my brakes will be 100% done, including Ebrake by next Saturday.

DOH!,, thats why i asked if all 4 rotors were teh same... couldnt remember if your rears were .81" or 1.25"

the spots are EASY to widen to fit the 1.25" rotor..

Mike,

My car has all 240z hubs.

Rick brought in a set of 280z hubs to compare.

I'm going to have an extra set of hats when I'm done. I'll probably be purchasing extra rotors just incase something happens.

Do you remember is I bought a proportioning valve? I think I did, but can't seem to find it in any of the boxes.
