Specific Tranny Question

Hey everyone, I am asking for a specific tranny on this one. If I drop in a SBC V8 in my '82 S130 Coupe, what 5 speed tranny will work best with it? I am not looking for major power handling nor am I looking to race very often. Something simple without electronic hookups. I have been looking at the 290hp 350 from GM So a tranny that can handle like 350-370 lbs tq. The only one that has crossed my mind was the BW T-5 from a 1990-92 Camaro Z28. TIA.

Thanx, I did use the search and read like 15 threads but my eyes started burning and twitching and still did not find what I was looking for...Ok good to know on the tranny, I will continue to read and hopefully will have a better idea as to the specifics of the swap.

I know what you mean. We should devize a way were there were stickys next to common questions. That would make searching sooo much easier. I think I read 50 posts the other day about my t5 swap and still only answered half my questions. So to show them I am serious and not just asking dumb questions I started my cool little newbie swap archive. Look under the post Got my car!! Hopefully I will help someone later on.
