Guest dvanecek
Got a su carb setup and I cannot tell which pitch nut/bolts I need. I tried 8x1.25 and 8x1.0 neither worked. I donot want to chase these thread without asking first. I have never seen 8x1.5's before but y never know. so what do I need. I need nuts that mount the carbs to the intake and bolts to mount the velocity stacks to the carb. while on the subject, anyone know where to get some long velocity stacks? Guest dvanecek
that makes sense with what I'm seeing, but I figured it would be metric. sounds like it's a 3/8-16? I talked to fastener master friend of mine and he said metric didn't take hold until early 80's?

I talked to fastener master , friend of mine and he said metric didn't take hold until early 80's? Reasonably enough a true statement. The Japs used some interesting sizes like 14mm in suspension bolts, and even today most jap motorbike engines carry fasteners that nobody keeps, but metric has a good foot hold here today, although it'll take it some time to break into the heart of my industry (coal fired power station built in the 60's, whitworth rules:D ) Happy tapping Nigel
