I have a 1991 Z32 300ZX sitting in my garage atm, all empty with no interior, no motor, and no gearbox. I have an RB30E on the way, which will be converted to a DET once the engine and powerglide gearbox have been mounted, and a big ass GT42R thats going to hang off the side of it.

As you can tell by now, its not really going to be nice to drive on the road, but thats ok because it doesn't have to be to get a 9 second ET! Yep, thats right, the car is going to be built for straight line duties, but be road registered so that I can run it in road legal classes in its early development stages

We have a guy in my home town who runs a shop called RIPS. Very knowlegable when it comes to Nissan parts, and a master of the RB30DET hybrid build, having converted his RB20 powered Nissan Skyline to an RB30DET, then getting a 10.21ET out of the car thanks to some pretty clever engineering. I will be calling on him for alot of help.

I did consider running a VG30DET, but the conversion was going to work out more expensive than an RB30DET build (VG30DET needs to be moved forward to make room for the exhaust manifold joining pipe), and combine that with the track record of the RB30DET in my very own city, and there was overwhelming evidence to convert to the RB30

No doubt there will be issues, like where the radiator is going to sit as the RB30 is too long to allow the radiator to sit in its factory location, and how to get the 200ZR sump (its good having friends in Japan!), but eventially it will all fit together then I can have my frainkenstein Z out for a bit of a play :)

sounds like a nice extreme project and we'd all love to see before, during and after pics. also vids of it when you get it running, should run like a beast and be stupid fast.

good luck
