racerx260 Posted September 12, 2006 Share Posted September 12, 2006 I'm going to look at a 83 zx 2+2 and want to know what are the areas most likely to have rust. I am familiar with the 240-280 bodies but not the zx.Do these later cars have more rust protection are are the as helpless as the earlier bodies.Has anyone tried spray on bed liner as undercoating? gibbon Posted September 14, 2006 Share Posted September 14, 2006 the front end of the bonnet generally rusts without fail. check the firewall, and especially the sides where rainwater is funnelled off to. also look around the filler cap and the inside of the boot on the filler side of the car. they dont seem to suffer from sill rust as badly as the earlier z's do.
