Guest scca
havent measured but the id difference is minimal. the tubes themselves are thicker in the later 280. oh and if anyone ever wants- i know someone who makes tubes new, threaded end and ready to replace a original long tube, same as 280 type i believe- he uses them to add coilover onto 240SX's.. Guest Anonymous
Thanks Mike, I'm trying to put koni double adjustable inserts in my 73 Z. The inside diameter on the 73 housings are 44 mm. The diameter of the inserts is 45 mm, close but no fit. I hope the 280 housing is large enough to hold this insert. I've got one (280 housing) on the way from zbarn. If this does not work out I may contact you about having some larger tubes made. Guest Anonymous
Anyone know the difference in ID of a 240 strut housing verses a 280 strut housing? I have searched the forums and know the OD is larger the on the 280 vs 240 but could not find any info on the ID. Thanks Mark
Guest scca
afaik the 280 housing is large enough.. if you have coilovers now the sleeves wont fit the larger tubes.. you can use 280zx tubes as well i think. and you will want to section the 280 rear tubes to the 240 length or even 1" shorter for the koni inserts
