Guest Mike
I searched and found some threads but none mentioned these specific direct replacement LED lights. I did find where there were brightness issues with red LED's and white ones would likely be better with red lens covers. Has anyone tried these? They bayonet directly into 1156/1157 bulb sockets. Hopefully, they're noticibly brighter than stock incandescent bulbs. http://www.ledtrailerlights.com/stt/1157.htm or these (middle of page) http://sampson-sporttouring.com/driving-lights.html another... http://www.wixtools.com/html/led_lighting.html
kuntry
Yeah, I spent almost 30 bucks on the red LEDs for both our cars. Seems like it would have been brighter if I had gotten someone to sit in the trunk and put a match thru the hole when I wanted to stop or turn. Ever since I havent wanted to spend the money on the white ones because I didnt want to get burned again. Maybe someone else knows if the clear ones work. Kennysgreen280zt
http://www.hidplanet.com has do it yourself LED how to articles I think. A whole panel of them in the tail lights/signals would be pretty sweet. Look in the 'forums' section. My results with the LED replacement bulbs is also dim, and with the turnsignals it has a tendancy to speed them up a whole lot, making it look like youve got a light out somewhere. This is yet another project on my 'sometime down the line' list that keeps getting longer!
