Guest Anonymous
My 1971 240z has a rear proportioning valve that is just ahead of the three-way connector that splits the hydralic line into two and sends a line to each rear brake. This rear proportioning valve apparently disappeared in 1973. Is there any way to convert this stock proportioning valve to make it adjustable? Has anyone done this? I don't mean replacing it with an adjustable proportioning valve, I mean actually altering the stock valve (cheapskate!)
RB30-ZED
Hi Graham, my 73 240 had the limiting valve, and i did shim the spring up to give me more rear braking, this is done by removing the fitting at the bottom of the valve and placing a couple of brass washers between the spring and the fitting. But if its less rear your after you will have to fit a softer spring.
