Guest chevsun
I've searched the archives and still need to know what flywheel to use with my 74 350,T-56 setup. I know it needs to be 168 tooth for an 11" clutch but does it require a special flywheel because of adaptability? I have a hays 168 T here that takes 11 or 10.5 clutches can I use it? Will any 168 T flywheel for a 2 piece main block work. This is an expensive undertaking so I hate to make costly mistakes like I have in the past. Guest Anonymous
Chevsun, Contact Centerforce or McCleod. They both make flywheels to adapt older internally balanced/2 piece rear seal SBCs to the T56. If I recall correctly, from Jim and Mike, the flywheel will run you ~$260.00. Guest Anonymous
I just ordered one for my 78 350 from centerforce. The guy said it was the correct one. When I put it on next week, I"ll let you know how it all fits and stuff. I do know that I went with the 153 tooth flywheel though. THe help at racesearch.com was great. They have a toll free number, and were very friendly. sean ------------------ "I feel the need, the need for speed!!" "Don't hate the player, hate the game!" BLKMGK
Yah, 153 teeth and it takes the same style clutch as the later model cars. It's one funky looking flywheel too. Wish they made a lighter one (shrug).
