Guest brokenaxles
Hello out there. I am new to the site and new to the 280Z. I just picked up my '81 ZX for $300. It's in fair shape but won't start. It cranks ok and is pumping fuel. After going through the engine bay, I found two things I am curious about. The IC Ignition Control Unit has two sets of terminals. One set on top and one set on the side that appears to belong to a connector. Well, the connector side has nothing plugged in and there are two wires on the exposed terminals on top. Is this correct?? I have the factory manual, chiltons, and haynes in front of me and I can't figure it out. Also, the Thermal Vacuum Valve, according to these manuals, is supposed to have two vacuum lines running to/from it. The 1979 models have three lines. Mine for some reason has three. The third is just there with no vacuum line running to/from it. I can't find any other places for a missing line. Will this keep the car from starting?? If not, any suggestions?
