EMWHYR0HEN
My Parents (unfortunatly not me) were in the market to buy a new mid-size truck. They let me choose, but that wasn't so hard because I didn't have to look any further than Nissan's new lineup. Nissan offers so many options for the Frontier and I wanted them ALL. However, with all those options the truck would be out of the price range my Parents wanted. So I looked into used ones and finally scored them the truck I wanted for the price they wanted to pay. Specs: '05 Frontier Nismo Model VQ40DE - 265 HP, 284 LB/FT 4x4 Auto five speed ( They offer a six speed manual!) The Nismo pkgs comes with: Bilstein's BFG's + differnt wheels Electronic locking diff Skid plates Fog lights Differnt seat fabric other off road electronic crap Check out the photos. They're great quality, enlarge! http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=
MrFancypants
I have the same model (in Storm Grey rather than Electric Blue). Nissan built a winner with the 2nd Gen Frontier. Ive been really impressed with the value! - Greg -
OlderThanMe
The VQ40DE looks like a really good motor... It gets basically the same gas mileage as my 04' VG33e powered crew cab. A main difference is the rear suspension has the leaf springs over the axle instead of under so it sits a little higher... At the Nissan dealership I saw a 2007 bright yellow nismo 4x4 frontier crew cab with the VQ40DE and I WANTED IT!!! The price was a bit too high though. EMWHYR0HEN
Wow I didn't know the VG has the same gas milage as the VQ. Lately Iv'e been getting poor milage, maybe I should stop seeing 6k rpm and lay off the gas pedal. I swear the truck will beat most cars! MrFancypants
Yeah the gas mileage is the low point... I get around 15 city, 17-18 highway. - Greg -
OlderThanMe
I get about 16 city and up to 21mpg at 65-70mph highway. I've been thinking a cat-back exhaust will sound really nice... *AGG* can't modify truck! must spend $$$$ on Z!!!*ARR*
Guest CorrPerformance
Nice! I have a Frontier as well, '06 SE model. LSD and 6spd I just installed some HIDs on it, brilliant addition since I am always driving back from the shop late at night and the I-10 from Baton Rouge to NOLA is always dark. Here is the truck's numbers: Dyno chart
