Guest HER280ZXT
I did a search and didn't find exactly what I am looking for. Can anyone tell me what effect an AFM with low resistance readings will cause. I have checked the FSM pins 26 & 33 and it says the resistance should be 280 - 400 ohms on the bench. Mine reads about 106 ohms. I bought a used one on ebay and it reads about 120 ohms. Can this low reading cause the engine to fall on its face between 1500 and 2500 rpms? I suspect it would cause the engine to run rich. I feels like it just isn't getting fuel. It also seems like it is worse once the engine heats up. When it is cold and not under load it takes the fuel OK. I have checked everything else listed in the FSM and can't find anything wrong. Cleaned or replaced all connectors, new plugs, remanufactured distributor, new plug wires, O2 sensor, new head temp sensor. Replaced or verified all vacuum hoses, verified timing. Verifed fuel pump and fuel regulator is good. Compression is between 142 1nd 148 on all cylinders. IF the AFM is bad I will buy an new one. Need some feedback before I spend $300 bucks.
