Steering swap: from box to rack and pinion?

I've got the non-rack and pinion front, with the lots-0'-pieces power steering box. Would there be any benefit to swapping it out for rack and pinion, or shouls I just freshen the the stock system, side to side?

I don't believe there is any handling improvements to be gained between the two styles, provided that both systems are in good condition. Mainly manufacturers put one style in vs another for packaging reasons. If you were to change, you will also probably need to get a new crossmember for the car because yours may not have the required mounting points. I think refreshing the existing components are your best bet.
